Our founder, Matías Bickel, is a Michigan State University graduate with a B.S. in Kinesiology and minor in coaching. His transition to work in landscapes and agriculture stems from his passion to bring healing beyond the clinic and sports, having worked in healthcare as a physical therapy technician and a youth soccer coach. As a current Farmer in Training at Old Fort Lewis in Hesperus, they are working to integrate more urban agriculture into their landscape design. Being a lifelong learner, Matías often travels throughout our region in pursuit of professional certifications and networking opportunities. He hopes to increase our regional capacities as related to climate shift, food insecurity and public health.
